My first visit as a researcher to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City created a lifelong passion for exploring the lives of people living in the memories of their families.

As a sophomore with a Family History Research major, I gained skills in reading many scripts, understand key Latin words, pay attention to calendar systems, and different date formats.

In writing classes, I gained an awareness of citations, their purpose, and their value, as well as skill in creating them.

Volunteering as the Family History Center Director and Research Consultant pushed me out of my comfort zone. Communicating with professional genealogists and different archives in Croatia and the USA gave me a better understanding of where specific documents are archived and which are available online or what areas do not have any records available.

I am enthusiastic and easy to work with, willing to help and love to learn new skills. Lifelong learning is a valuable trait of anyone who is researching their family history for the new tools are being made available almost every day.
